“There have been some all sorts of stories and things he said himself about having a very hard time playing Batman, and it had been difficult for him. I think it was more about a difficult time in his life. When we approached him, he’s now in a very different time in his life. He was very open to it, which was a bit of a surprise to us. It was a question mark. We are all human and go through great times in our lives and terrible times in our lives. Right now he’s in a place where he can actually enjoy being Batman. Affleck's Batman may not be getting another movie or a TV show on HBO Max, but viewers should appreciate seeing him in The Flash. Despite the initial backlash to Affleck's casting, his performances as Batman were well-received, and fans expressed their gratitude for "Batfleck" on social media earlier this year. At that time, nobody could have predicted Affleck would appear in another DC movie, so Muschietti probably isn't the only happy Affleck is back one more time. Considering the relationship Affleck's Batman had with Barry Allen, it'll be interesting to see how he fits into the story, and ideally he steps away on a high note.
